Unit Information:
o Beds: 20 beds
Census? 14-16
SLP involved with infants less than 36 weeks
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 3 years plus 1 year NICU
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Premature 36 weeks, any infant feeding disorder, congenital disorders, Craniofacial abnormalities, RDS, Cardiac conditions
Required License, National Certification, Certs:
o BLS
o CCC certification through ASHA
o Advanced training in infant feeding
o Certified neonate therapist (preferred)
Skills required:
o General speech therapy in the NICU, feeding therapy for fragile feeders, Strong communication, collaborative, working with an interdisciplinary team.
o Preemie neuro assessment
o Experience with Bayley 4 preferred
Support within the Department:
o Nurses
o Other speech therapist
o OT team
o Provider on site always
o
Technology/Equipment:
o EMR: EPIC
o Unit specific equipment: infant video/ FEES is a bonus
Floating: If yes, where?
o No
Orientation (facility and unit):
o NEO
o How many days of unit orientation? Up to 5 days
Scheduling:
o Weekend rotation: M-F position
o On call? No call, no weekends
o Holiday Expectations: no holidays
o Should approval of RTO go through manager or will you allow the interviewing team (if applicable) to approve time off on your behalf? Manager to approve
o Shift times: 8-430, 730-4
o Schedule cycle: M-F

o Scrub Color: no color preference, hospital provided scrubs available
o Parking: Free
o Unit Culture: dedicated NICU office, collaborative team, integrated NICU with Providers, therapists and the multidisciplinary team, on campus workout facility
