Job Overview

We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 42-week school-based contract assignment with Federal Way Public Schools in Federal Way, Washington. The SLP will provide speech and language services to students, supporting communication development and academic success within the school setting.

The ideal candidate will have strong assessment, treatment planning, and collaboration skills while working closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and goals
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students
  • Maintain accurate documentation, evaluations, and progress reports
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff regarding student progress
  • Educate families and school staff on communication strategies and interventions
  • Ensure compliance with school district, state, and federal regulations


Requirements

  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) license required
  • Master s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
  • Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage caseloads effectively within a school environment
