Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist
  • Manage complex acute inpatient cases in a Level 1 Trauma center
  • Conduct assessments and provide therapeutic interventions for patients with acute trachs and vents
  • Perform modified barium swallow studies (MBS) or fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES)
  • Utilize EPIC software for patient documentation and records

Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist
  • ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) certification
  • Active Massachusetts state license
  • 4-5 years of experience in a level 1 trauma center
  • Competence in modified barium swallow studies (MBS) or a willingness to conduct them
  • Experience with EPIC software
  • Must be separated from BILH for over 6 months
