Key Responsibilities of the Speech Language Pathologist

Manage complex acute inpatient cases in a Level 1 Trauma center
Conduct assessments and provide therapeutic interventions for patients with acute trachs and vents
Perform modified barium swallow studies (MBS) or fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES)
Utilize EPIC software for patient documentation and records

Requirements of the Speech Language Pathologist

ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) certification
Active Massachusetts state license
4-5 years of experience in a level 1 trauma center
Competence in modified barium swallow studies (MBS) or a willingness to conduct them
Experience with EPIC software
Must be separated from BILH for over 6 months
