Job Title: Speech Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: SLP Home Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 17:00) Experience: 2 years preferred License: State License required Certifications: BLS, SLP-CF Must-Have: Master's in Speech Pathology from an accredited institution Strong communication skills Ability to organize and manage time efficiently Description: Develop and implement treatment plans for issues such as stuttering, delayed language, and swallowing disorders. Complete patient evaluations and tests according to Speech Pathology Standards of Practice and other required standards. Develop and update patient Plans of Care (POC). Assess and provide treatment for patients per established standards. Complete all documentation related to charge capture according to established standards. Coordinate patient care effectively with other care providers and support team members. Ensure compliance with department and organization requirements. Work flexible shift assignments, including variations in days of the week and hours. Assist with clinical supervision of assistants and aides. Function as a clinical instructor for assigned students. Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patients, including all therapy performed in medical and departmental records. May perform general clerical tasks, such as answering phones and updating patient appointments. Participate in quality improvement processes and interdisciplinary projects. Maintain a clean, safe working environment, including disinfecting equipment after each use. Inspect and use equipment according to manufacturer guidelines, reporting malfunctions as required. Maintain confidential patient information and ensure compliance with regulations. Retain certification and complete continuing education requirements to meet accreditation and licensure standards. Demonstrate effective clinical assessment skills in the area of speech therapy. Utilize alternative communication devices and strategies as needed. Conduct evaluations for swallowing and communication disorders, including fiberoptic endoscopic evaluations and modified barium swallow studies. Educate patients and families about conditions and treatment strategies. Demonstrate knowledge in a variety of specialized skills related to speech therapy and patient care.
