Job Summary
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. The SLP works with patients across all age groups to improve communication skills and safe swallowing, enhancing overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
Provide therapy for speech articulation, language development, voice, fluency, and dysphagia (swallowing disorders)
Perform and interpret bedside swallow evaluations and recommend diet modifications
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy strategies and home programs
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
Document evaluations, treatments, and outcomes in EMR/EHR systems
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and physical therapists
Ensure compliance with clinical standards and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
Active SLP license in the state of practice
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
Current BLS certification
Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
