Job Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, communication, cognitive-communication, swallowing, and dysphagia disorders.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations and assessments of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal functions.
- Develop, implement, and oversee therapeutic habilitative and rehabilitative programs.
- Provide clinical speech-language pathology services to residents.
- Complete accurate documentation in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, allied health professionals, administration, and other departments.
- Train, instruct, and/or supervise staff in habilitation and rehabilitation activities.
- Monitor treatment programs for compliance, effectiveness, and quality of care.
- Update, revise, or develop new treatment programs and protocols based on patient outcomes.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities related to therapeutic services.
- May be required to support disaster response, recovery, or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities, which may involve alternate shifts or locations.
✅ Requirements
- Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Experience working with individuals with communication, swallowing, cognitive, or developmental disorders is preferred.
