Key Responsibilities

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and make referrals as appropriate; provide comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information in the electronic documentation system, accurately recording treatment minutes per applicable requirements.
• Participate in required meetings (patient care conferences, utilization review, rehabilitation meetings) and facility or company required trainings and in-services; supervise and support CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active Texas State Speech-Language Pathologist license (required).
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (required).
• Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience; LTC or rehabilitation setting experience required.
• New graduates considered with completed Level II clinical experience (Level I observation experience alone is not sufficient).
• Adherence to ASHA and Texas state practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics standards.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of experience holding an active CCC-SLP certification.
• Experience supervising CFY or student Speech-Language Pathologists in a clinical setting.
