Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and implement appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards.
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and make referrals or modify services as indicated by patient response.
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers regarding speech and language disorders.
  • Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in the electronic documentation system, including treatment minutes and comprehensive discharge summaries.
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, required trainings, and in-services; supervise CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required; new graduates with completed Level II clinical experience (not Level I observation only) will be considered.
  • Long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
  • Active Missouri State SLP License required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required.
  • Adherence to ASHA Code of Ethics and applicable state practice acts required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience supervising Clinical Fellows (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Familiarity with group therapy models in a long-term care or rehabilitation environment.
  • Experience with electronic documentation systems in a clinical setting.
