Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Rehab

Key Responsibilities- Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
- Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions and adjust treatments based on patient progress.
- Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and make referrals or modify services accordingly.
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders.
- Document all required clinical information in the electronic documentation system, accurately recording treatment minutes per regulatory requirements.
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, required trainings, and in-services; supervise CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed.
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required.
- Long-term care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting experience required.
- Active Texas State SLP License required.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required.
- Active BLS certification required.
- Adherence to ASHA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.
Preferred Experience / Skills- 3 or more years of experience holding an active CCC-SLP certification preferred.
- Experience supervising Clinical Fellows (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists.
