Travel Speech Language Pathologist – Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility (IRF)

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM | 40 Hours/Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients' communication and swallowing needs and initiate appropriate speech-language pathology interventions for an adult and geriatric inpatient rehabilitation population including diagnoses such as stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and debility.
  • Observe and evaluate treatment effectiveness, monitor progress toward short- and long-term goals, and recommend modifications to the care team as needed.
  • Perform accurate and timely documentation including QI scoring, interdisciplinary care plan updates, and patient charges in accordance with facility standards using EPIC and Rehab Connect EHR systems.
  • Participate in patient and family team conferences, reporting patient progress and barriers to discharge.
  • Formulate and implement patient and family teaching plans based on identified learning needs and evaluate effectiveness of learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to maintain standards of professional practice, patient safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Washington.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency with electronic health record systems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Previous experience in acute care, skilled nursing, or inpatient rehabilitation hospital settings.
  • Experience working with patients presenting with stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, or general debility.
  • Familiarity with EPIC and Rehab Connect EHR platforms.
