Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat pediatric patients (neonate to adolescent) with communication and swallowing disorders/delays, applying knowledge of normal growth and age-appropriate care
  • Utilize pediatric-based behavior management strategies and match diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to the age and disability of each patient
  • Establish individualized treatment plans with age-appropriate goals and target timeframes, developed collaboratively with patients' families
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
  • Assess and evaluate recommended needs for equipment and supplies
  • Assist in the supervision and monitoring of speech-language pathology students
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
  • Active Arizona Department of Health Services license (must be obtained prior to start date)
  • Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card (must be obtained prior to start date)
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • ASHA certification or currently in Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with infant feeding in a clinical setting
  • ICU experience, preferably within a pediatric or neonatal environment
  • Prior pediatric clinical experience
