Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) – Long Term Care

Key Responsibilities
  • Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders; develop and implement appropriate plans of care in accordance with regulatory and clinical practice standards
  • Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to guide clinical interventions and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness and make referrals or modify services accordingly; provide comprehensive discharge summaries per regulatory and clinical requirements
  • Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers related to speech disorders
  • Document all required clinical information accurately in the electronic documentation system, including treatment minutes, per regulatory and company requirements
  • Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, required trainings, and in-services; supervise and support Clinical Fellows (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of SLP experience required; new graduates with a completed Level II clinical experience (not solely Level I observation) will be considered
  • Experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation setting required
  • Active Massachusetts State SLP License required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA required
  • Adherence to ASHA and Massachusetts state practice acts, code of conduct, and professional ethics
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience supervising Clinical Fellows (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation systems used in long term care or rehabilitation environments
  • Experience managing a varied daily caseload including evaluations and treatment sessions across Medicare A, Medicare B, and managed care populations
