Seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 13-week acute care assignment. The Speech-Language Pathologist will evaluate and treat adult patients with speech, language, cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders across multiple acute care units, including ICU, medical-surgical, stroke, and neurological populations. Candidates with acute care hospital experience are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders.
Perform bedside swallowing assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide dysphagia management and patient education.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
Support patients with stroke, neurological disorders, respiratory compromise, ICU conditions, and other acute medical diagnoses.
Participate in discharge planning and caregiver education.
Required Qualifications
Active Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist License
CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
Current AHA BLS Certification
Minimum 15–18 months of recent Speech Therapy experience
Acute Care hospital experience preferred
Strong communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS)
FEES (Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) experience
Experience working with ICU, neurological, stroke, and dysphagia patients
