Registered Nurse (RN)
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for protecting, promoting, and optimizing health and abilities, preventing illness and injury, and alleviating suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN serves as an advocate in the care of individuals and families, ensuring compliance with all standards of practice and professional development.
Job Responsibilities:
Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients, serving as the primary or accountable nurse based on unit assignment.
Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management utilizing available resources.
Administer medications safely and in accordance with established policies.
Share responsibility for productivity and efficient resource utilization, including staffing and time management.
Comply with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements.
Actively participate in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and contribute to improvement initiatives.
Engage in professional development and complete mandatory education requirements.
Integrate nursing research and current evidence into practice.
Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Perform duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role as assigned.
Participate in the Clinical Ladder Program as knowledge and expertise develop.
Undertake other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience:
6 months to 3 years of nursing (RN) experience.

Knowledge of safety and risk management.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
Education:
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
Current Registered Nurse License in New York State.
BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).
Preferred Certifications & Licensure:
CCRN.
Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by the assigned unit.
Schedule Notes:
12-night shifts per week, 36 hours total.
Every 3rd weekend is required.
Experience Requirements:
Experience with intensive cardiac patients including CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia.
Experience with stroke patients undergoing thrombectomy/TNK and ICU overflow is necessary.
