Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step-down/PCU position requiring telemetry expertise and a valid IN or compact RN license.

Details

• Step-down/PCU unit within a hospital setting
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:3 to 5
• Uses Epic for charting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am)
• Every second weekend rotation required

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry (unit and remote monitoring)
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience managing neurological conditions such as CVA, TBI, and seizure disorders
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with post cardiac catheterization, TAVR, and pacemaker care

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive step-down level nursing care to cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and post-surgical patients
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Manage isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Perform wound care and wound vac management as required
• No prior travel nursing experience required
