Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg/Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of med-surg experience and an active SC or compact RN license.

Details

• Med-Surg unit that frequently floats to PCU/Stepdown and other MS/Tele units
• Stepdown ratios of 1:4-5 and Med-Surg ratios of 1:5-6
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15
• Schedule includes weekdays, every other weekend, floating, and holidays as needed
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Pediatric patients not assigned to travelers without pediatric experience

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• 2 years of med-surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required
• IV start skills required
• Meditech charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Frequent floating to PCU, Stepdown, and other Med-Surg/Tele units is expected
• Candidates must be comfortable floating within the hospital in rotation with staff
• Holiday and weekend coverage required on a rotating basis
• Scrubs not provided; required color is royal blue/white
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Facility will not accept any license or background hits
• Previous employees must have been gone at least 1 year and in good standing at time of departure
• Minimal to no RTO approved, especially during the first weeks of assignment
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
