Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a MedSurg/Stepdown position requiring 2 years of med surg experience and comfort with frequent floating between units.

Details

• Work in the Step down unit of a hospital environment
• MedSurg role that frequently floats to PCU/Stepdown and other MS/Tele units
• Patient ratios are Stepdown 1:4-5 and MedSurg 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• Weekday, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed
• Frequent floating required within the hospital in accordance with facility floating policies and clinical experience
• EMR system used is Meditech, with experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of med surg experience required
• Stepdown/PCU experience required due to frequent floating to these units
• IV start skills required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• No previous permanent employment with the facility within the last year, and must have left in good standing

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care across MedSurg, Stepdown/PCU, and Telemetry units as needed
• Must be comfortable managing both MedSurg and Stepdown patient populations and ratios
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility to qualify for the travel rate
• Scrubs are not provided; royal blue/white scrubs required
• Holiday and weekend coverage required in rotation with staff
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Facility will not accept candidates with license or background hits
• Pediatric experience is not required, as travelers without pediatric experience will not be assigned pediatric patients
