Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Critical Care Stepdown Unit.
• Utilize strong critical-thinking skills to assess patient needs and implement effective care plans.
• Administer medications, including emergency medications, and manage cardiac drips and vasoactive drips.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management.
• Conduct frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks, particularly post-heart catheterization and vascular procedures.
• Manage respiratory support systems such as BiPAP and CPAP.
• Ensure infection prevention through proper isolation precautions and PPE usage.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Stepdown Unit.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia management.
• Experience with IV start and maintenance, PICC line management, and blood product administration.
• Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and manage CVA/Acute Stroke.
• Expertise in procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Knowledge of wound care and wound vacuum systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
