Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Stepdown/Telemetry unit requiring at least 1 year of cardiac telemetry experience and proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation.

Details

• Work on a 7th Floor Medical-Surgical Intermediate/Stepdown unit
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Cares for cardiac, stroke, and renal patients, including those receiving hemodialysis (performed by outside company)
• Manages all modes of oxygenation other than ventilators
• Administers and titrates cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if active prior to start)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required, 2 years preferred
• Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience required
• Cardiac drip experience required, including titration
• Must pass telemetry rhythm identification quiz
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Local candidates are not accepted
