Description

American Traveler is seeking a RN - Stepdown for a night shift position requiring EPIC experience and telemetry strip interpretation skills.

Details

• Stepdown unit in a hospital setting with a 39-bed capacity
• Surgical patient population requiring telemetry monitoring
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Floating required to Main Campus, South Campus, and North Campus locations
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Telemetry certification required
• IV Start certification required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• No history of license disciplinary action

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to stepdown-level surgical and telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to cardiac emergencies
• Perform wound care, feeding tube management, and isolation precautions as needed
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility and local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract
• No schedule requests or RTO negotiable after an offer is made
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency employees not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
