Description

American Traveler is hiring a Surgical Stepdown RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and a MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical Stepdown unit in a Level II Trauma and Level II Stroke Center hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Float to units of similar or lower acuity may be required
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active RN license (MO State or Compact) required, in hand prior to start
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• BSN preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, CPI, NIHSS; ACLS preferred
• Level II Trauma experience required
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration preferred)
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry remote monitoring
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience with IV insulin protocols
• Two professional references required for consideration
• PDF copies of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown needs
• Manage genitourinary/renal conditions including CBI and pre/post hemodialysis care
• Support neurological and psychiatric patients including CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal
• Utilize rapid response and code teams as needed
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate within a 50-mile radius; travelers must reside at least 50 miles from the facility for standard travel rate eligibility
• Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
