Step-Down Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00 - 07:30).

Job Description

We are seeking a Step-Down Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in step-down care. The RN will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, focusing on patients with complex medical conditions such as congestive heart failure and respiratory failure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patient conditions, performing frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks.
• Manage patients recovering from heart catheterization and vascular procedures.
• Administer medications, including emergency medications and cardiac drips, and perform procedural sedation monitoring.
• Provide care for patients experiencing cardiac dysrhythmias and respiratory failures using BiPAP and CPAP.
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and adhere to isolation precautions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• 2+ years of recent experience in a Step-Down Unit.
• Familiarity with telemetry and dysrhythmia management.
• Experience with IV/Vascular management, including PICC line care.
