Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced IMCU/Step Down RN for a day-shift position requiring higher-acuity critical care skills and an active OR RN license.

Details

  • >Acute care hospital Step Down/IMCU unit setting
  • Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)
  • Patient ratios of 1:3 and 1:4
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating between units and to affiliate facilities within the health system may be required based on skill set
  • Charting completed in Epic

Requirements

  • Active RN license, OR license required (can submit with license pending unless otherwise specified)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent relevant experience
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
  • Experience with trach and ventilator patients required
  • Experience managing critical care drips and titrated infusions required
  • Experience with complex cardiac and respiratory patients required
  • Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care required
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
  • Experience titrating cardiac drips and insulin drips required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to intermediate/step-down level patients with complex cardiac and respiratory needs
  • Care for higher-acuity patients including those requiring trach and ventilator support
  • Must be willing to float to other units and sister facilities based on skill set and staffing needs
  • Facility is a short-term acute care teaching hospital
  • Scrubs may be any color, except OR/Cath Lab where scrubs are provided
  • No parking fees at this facility
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests should be submitted upfront; up to 6 days total or 3 consecutive days may be auto-approved
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • 50-mile radius rule applies for travel pay rate eligibility
