Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down position on a heart/vascular moderate care unit requiring 18 months of recent specialty experience and a GA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in a 12-bed, 24-hour observation unit within a hospital's heart/vascular service line
• Unit supports patients from CICU, CVICU, and multiple cardiac and vascular stepdown floors
• Patient population includes low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in ICU or stepdown units, as well as presurgical and same-day procedure patients requiring extended monitoring
• Unit accommodates LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters, with no ventilators, CRRT, or Impella devices
• Fast-paced environment with high patient turnover and a wide variety of cardiovascular diagnoses
• 12-hour AM shifts
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 18 months of experience in the specialty within the past 3 years
• CCRN certification preferred
• Rhythm identification test (proctored) required upon start, with two attempts allowed

Additional Information

• Provide moderate care nursing to a mix of low acuity critical care and presurgical patients within the heart/vascular service line
• Excellent opportunity to develop critical care skills, cardiovascular knowledge, and assessment abilities
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former employees of the health system must be separated for at least 1 year before returning, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
