RadHealth+ is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Columbus, Ohio.

Travel RN – Acute Leukemia / Stepdown | Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center

Unit: 15 East James – Acute Leukemia
Start Date: 11/16/2026
Contract: 16 Weeks
Shift: Days or Nights | 3x12s (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

 

MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience
  • Current acute care experience within the last 12 months
  • Epic experience required
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Travel experience preferred (first-time travelers will be screened)

GOOD NEWS

  • NO CHEMO CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Unit is willing to train nurses on the oncology patient population

Patient Population

  • Newly diagnosed Acute Leukemia patients
  • Adults and Geriatrics
  • High volume of blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte replacement

Required Skills

  • PCU/Stepdown experience
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Blood product administration
  • PICC and central line management
  • Peripheral line management
  • IV starts
  • Feeding tube care
  • Rapid Response Team utilization

Unit Highlights

  • 24-bed Acute Leukemia Unit
  • Daily Census: 22
  • Goal ratio: 1:4 (can increase to 1:5)
  • Float to other Med Surg Oncology units as needed
  • Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
  • 72-hour orientation

  • GE B450 Telemetry Monitors
  • Alaris Pumps
  • Bladder Scanner
  • Stryker Beds

Ideal Candidate: PCU/Stepdown RN with strong telemetry skills, blood product administration experience, and current acute care experience who is interested in caring for acute leukemia patients in a specialized oncology setting.
