Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Step Down unit requiring OH or compact RN license, Epic experience, and stable chronic ventilator experience.

Details

• Step Down unit setting caring for telemetry and stepdown-level patients
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential up to 1:5-6
• Night shift, 4x12-hour schedule (19:00-07:30)
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Epic EMR experience required
• Floating required at facility discretion, including to main, south, and north campuses within 15 miles
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• IV Start skills preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant nursing experience required, Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred
• Experience with stable chronic ventilator patients required
• Must pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• Epic charting experience required
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for telemetry and stepdown patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and ventilator care
• Skills such as central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and vasoactive drip management may be utilized
• Experience with insulin drip titration, wound care, and hemodialysis management is a plus
• Maximum RTO of 14 days per contract; no additional RTO or schedule changes allowed after offer
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or non-extended agency employees of the facility must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler, subject to rehire approval
• Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
