Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Telemetry position requiring EPIC experience and stable chronic ventilator management skills.

Details

• Step-down unit within a hospital setting
• Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential ranges up to 1:5-6
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• 13 or 18-week contract options available
• Requires availability for every other weekend and every other holiday
• Floating required to other units or nearby campuses (main, south, and north campuses) based on skill set and census, at facility's discretion

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• IV Start skills preferred
• Minimum 1.5 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience preferred
• Experience with stable chronic ventilator patients required
• Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management, dysrhythmia interpretation, and telemetry monitoring

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care within a stepdown/telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and management of ventilated patients
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract due to low census
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no changes after offer
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or agency employees not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying as travelers
• Up to 24 hours of orientation modules are billable
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
