Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 18:45–07:15 | Alternating 36-hour and 48-hour weeks on a Friday–Sunday schedule (3x12 or 4x12 hours per week) | Every other weekend required | 13-week contracts accepted

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care/Stepdown unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and insulin drips
  • Manage arterial lines, central lines, PICC lines, ports, and peripheral IV access; administer blood products and maintain heparin protocols
  • Provide respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP management, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tube care, and non-invasive airway management
  • Care for patients with diagnoses including A-Fib with RVR, hyperglycemia, hypertension requiring drips, and heparin drip therapy
  • Float to ED IVC Sitter role as needed; adhere to isolation precautions, wound care protocols, and unit documentation standards

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact state license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Proficiency in cardiac telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and titration of drips
  • Experience with central line care, arterial line management, PICC lines, port access, and blood product administration
  • Familiarity with documentation and medication systems including Omnicell and MediTech

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience managing patients with CVA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, or total joint replacement
  • Hands-on experience with continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, and wound vac management
  • Prior experience with ventilated patients and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
