Night shift: 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), weekdays, and some weekends.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care. The RN will handle various medical conditions with a focus on cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology patients, alongside medical-surgical and medical patients. The position requires effectively managing patient care in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in a stepdown unit, adjusting the patient-to-nurse ratio as necessary.
• Utilize telemetry monitoring to assess and respond to patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as indicated, following protocols.
• Perform IV starts and manage intravenous therapies.
• Interpret cardiac strips and respond to changes in patient status.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on health management and recovery.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1.5-2 years of nursing experience in a stepdown or telemetry unit.
• Current RN license in West Virginia or a Compact License.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS.
• Experience in managing cardiac drips and interpreting dysrhythmias.
