Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/Progressive Care RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry interpretation skills and at least 2 years of stepdown experience.

Details

• Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit within a hospital setting
• Patients comparable to Progressive Care or Telemetry patients seen in larger facilities, with varying acuity
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4, flexing to 1:5 in emergencies
• Night shift, 3x12 or 4x12 hours, 7p-7a, weekdays with some weekends required
• Weekend block schedules considered (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Uses Cerner EMR

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including 1 year MS/Tele and 2 years Stepdown experience
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA preferred)
• Skilled in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Minimum 2 professional references from a manager or charge nurse within the past 2 years

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/progressive care environment with varying patient acuity
• Scrubs not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
• Orientation held every other Monday, requiring completion of non-billable training modules (approx. 8 hours) prior to start
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility; those between 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
• Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from their last date of employment before returning as a traveler
• Current employees of the Vandalia Health System (including CAMC, Mon Health, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System) are not eligible for this travel contract
• First-time travelers are not required to have travel experience
