Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night shift position requiring SC or compact RN license and prior ICU or Stepdown experience.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown unit of a 12-bed facility
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a, with holiday rotation
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities as needed, with agency staff floated first
• Epic EMR used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
• Prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience required
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown/telemetry setting including cardiac monitoring, respiratory management, and neurological care
• Scrub color required: royal blue
• Free parking available on-site
• During hurricane season (June–November, peaking August–September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• First-time travelers accepted if they have prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates within 60 miles are not accepted; non-local candidates are prioritized
• Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval consideration
