Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2 years of telemetry/stepdown experience and an SC or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) setting with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12s, 7p-7a
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday rotation required
• Floating within scope required, with agency staff floating first
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry monitoring required
• Experience with IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration required
• Neurological and respiratory care skills preferred, including ventilator care and BiPAP/CPAP management
• Social Security Number and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide stepdown-level nursing care to patients with cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and post-surgical needs
• Deliver telemetry monitoring and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias as needed
• Support patients with lines, drains, and post-procedure recovery including cardiac catheterization and neurosurgery
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking provided on-site
• First-time travelers may be accepted depending on final approval
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have a 1-year separation before returning as a travel employee
• Locals are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as post-submission RTO requests are not accepted
• Travelers may be asked to support emergency response efforts during hurricane season (June through November)
