Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med Specialty Step Down unit requiring stepdown and tracheostomy care experience along with a compact or OK RN license.

Details

• Med Specialty Step Down unit within a hospital setting
• Provides nursing care to patients ranging from routine to complex health problems
• Day shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly

Requirements

• Active RN license issued by Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact (eNLC) license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification issued by AHA
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Stepdown experience required
• Tracheostomy care experience required
• ICU experience preferred
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Basic computer proficiency

Additional Information

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents nursing interventions and treatment responses
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed
• Administers medications and manages IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Compliance documentation and onboarding steps must begin immediately due to strict facility deadlines
• Returning travelers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
