Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/Stepdown RN with 2+ years of experience and drip titration skills for a 13-week acute care assignment.

Details

• Acute care stepdown and floor unit with 31 beds across two connected units (6N and 6C)
• Patient ratios of 1:3 on Stepdown and 1:5-6 on the Floor
• Patient population includes MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, Urology, and pain management cases
• Unit is equipped with telemetry monitoring and dedicated tele techs
• RT staff in-house 24/7; no ventilators on this unit
• 3x12hr day shifts scheduled 7a-7:30p or 7p-7:30a
• Every other weekend required, along with call and holidays as scheduled
• Charge Nurse on every shift and House Supervisor in-house 24/7
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active WV or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and manage Heparin gtts on the floor
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• BSN not required
• Unexpired copy of driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Work alongside 3-4 nurse aides supporting 31 patients
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled for travelers
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify as a traveler
• Previous perm employees must have a 2-year break before reapplying
• Previous travelers who completed a full year must take a 2-year break before returning
• Candidates may only be submitted to one position within the WVU system at a time
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
