Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years required License: Must possess relevant licensure Certifications: CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA, BLS Must-Have: Trauma Level I and II Experience required Description: Two years of experience is required. Experience in Trauma Level I and II is required. First-time travelers are not accepted. A guaranteed number of hours is not provided. Floating may be required within the specialty and other units. Holidays are required as scheduled. Weekends are required as scheduled. The following special equipment is utilized: Steam Sterilizer, Washer Disinfector, VPR Low temp sterilization, Medivator for scope processing, Scope Buddy, and Cart Washer. Candidates must have experience in acute hospital OR and aseptic technique. Experience with biological indicators and chemical agents for decontamination is expected. Knowledge of proper labeling and selection of wrapping materials is essential. Experience with steam sterilization testing and monitoring is required. Candidates must be comfortable floating within scope with no restrictions. Travel experience is required. Previous charge experience is preferred. Experience with the community hospital is preferred. This position requires compliance with specific certification requirements. Candidates must be prepared to go for labs within a specified timeframe after signing the contract. Compliance documentation deadlines must be met prior to the start date.
