Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 8 hours (15:00 - 23:30) Experience: 2 years required License: Active license required Certifications: BLS*, CBSPD, IAHCSMM/HSPA Must-Have: Trauma Level I and II experience required Previous charge experience preferred Description: Two years of experience are required. Trauma Level I and II experience is essential. First-time travelers are not accepted. The contract length is 13 weeks. Shifts are 5x8 evenings from 15:00 to 23:30. Certifications required include BLS, CBSPD, and IAHCSMM/HSPA. Experience with steam sterilizers, washer disinfectors, VPR low-temperature sterilization, Medivator for scope processing, and cart washers is needed. Holidays and weekends are required as scheduled. Floating may be required within the specialty and to other facilities as necessary. On-call duties are not required. Candidates must be comfortable floating within designated scope without restrictions or special requests. Travel experience is required. Candidates must adhere to compliance and onboarding protocols. A CPI certification is preferred. Understanding of acute hospital OR practices and aseptic technique is essential. Competency in using biological indicators, case carts, and chemical agents for decontamination is expected. It is vital to properly label and select wrapping materials for sterilization. Experience with immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) and sterilization wrapping procedures is preferred. Additional skills in various specialties, such as OB/GYN, orthopedics, plastics, and urology, will be beneficial.
