Job Title: Central Sterile Technician Profession: Central Sterile Technician Specialty: Central Sterile Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evening Hours per Shift: 8.5 hours Experience: 1 year preferred, 2-4 years preferred License: Required Certifications: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) Must-Have: - High School Diploma or Equivalent required - Knowledge of case cart assembly - Familiarity with the regulatory standards of materials management - Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance Description: Responsible for performing sterilization procedures on medical instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures and industry standards. Processes specialty and general instruments. Resets instrument sets without error. Decontaminates instruments and equipment according to procedure. Maintains Central Sterile Department stock levels. Prepares and assembles surgical trays and equipment following established tray listings for issue, storage, or further processing. Communicates instrument repair needs to supervisor.
