Description:
The Sterile Processing Tech will work in the operating room.
The role requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
A travel background is preferred.
Call duties will be required as part of the position.
Candidates must have experience with high-level disinfection and steam sterilization.
Familiarity with biological and chemical indicators is necessary.
Knowledge of cleaning equipment, such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps, is expected.
Experience in the assembly of surgical trays and instrument tracking is essential.
The tech will be responsible for the decontamination and clean assembly of instruments.
This position involves working with various scopes, including bronchoscopes and colonoscopes.
Experience with robotics and laparoscopic surgery is beneficial.
Skills in proper selection of wrapping materials and sterilization wrapping procedures are required.
Aseptic technique is vital for this role.
The tech will need to float to similar units as required by facility needs.
Daily duties will include sterilization testing and monitoring.
Candidates must adhere to safety and compliance standards throughout their work.
Interdisciplinary support will be available for patient care needs.
The patient population primarily consists of adults and geriatrics.
Daily census approximately 35 patients.
Experience with various patient diagnoses, including orthopedics, neurosurgery, and general surgery, is necessary.
Technicians will receive brief orientation for the unit upon starting the contract.
All submissions need to comply with facility requirements.
