Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: High School Diploma Certifications: - CRCST - HSPA - AHA BLS Must-Have: - Endo Reprocessing Experience - Diverse knowledge of surgical instrumentation and devices Description: The position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in sterile processing. Shifts are from 07:00 to 17:00 on various days of the week. Floating to different locations is required based on the shift needs of multiple departments. Weekend and holiday rotations are mandatory. First-time workers are not accepted for this role. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in self-engagement and team effort settings. This is an outpatient surgery center. Responsibilities include reprocessing surgical instrument volume while full-time staff train new employees. Experience with a diverse variety of surgical instrumentation and devices, including robotics, vascular, trauma, neuro, and specialty equipment, is necessary. Candidates must exhibit proficiency in aseptic techniques, high-level disinfection, and sterilization practices. Experience with case cart management and various scopes is required. Workers will participate in a team effort for surgical instrument reprocessing. Proficiency in equipment documentation and proper labeling is essential. Completion of all facility-specific modules is required within the first week of the assignment. Candidates should be well-versed in cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization procedures. Effective communication and teamwork skills are necessary for this position. Candidates may be required to assist with other surgical reprocessing tasks.
