We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support a high-volume acute-care hospital environment. The role involves ensuring surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, assembled, and prepared for safe use.
Key Responsibilities:
Decontamination and disinfection of surgical instruments and equipment
Manual cleaning and use of ultrasonic cleaners, washers, and sterilizers
Assembly and preparation of instrument trays and case carts
Proper labeling, packaging, and wrapping of instruments
Sterilization using steam and STERRAD processes
High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and flexible endoscope reprocessing
Reprocessing scopes including bronchoscopes, colonoscopes, EGD, ERCP, EUS, EBUS, and other specialty scopes
Maintaining sterile storage and distribution of instruments
Processing equipment used across multiple surgical specialties
Processing specialized equipment including surgical drills and robotic systems
Supporting Operating Room teams with instrument and equipment needs
Using instrument tracking systems such as Censitrac
Maintaining accurate equipment and processing documentation
Following infection prevention, safety, and quality standards
Required Experience & Skills:
Minimum 3 years of Sterile Processing experience
Experience in a high-volume acute-care hospital or Operating Room environment
Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma facility
Strong knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, instrument assembly, and scope reprocessing
Experience with steam and STERRAD sterilization
Experience with High-Level Disinfection (HLD)
Strong flexible endoscope reprocessing experience
Experience with Censitrac or similar instrument tracking systems
Epic experience is preferred
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment
Certifications:
CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA/IAHCSMM) required
Additional Details:
1st, 2nd & 3rd shifts are available
Floating to other nearby locations may be required
Weekend and holiday coverage may be required based on facility needs
Experience across multiple sterile processing areas is highly preferred
Strong experience with decontamination, assembly, sterilization, endoscope reprocessing, and sterile storage is preferred
