Shift: Day Shift | 3x12s | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (Hours and days may vary based on department needs)

• Work alongside Perioperative Services at an 820-bed academic medical center
• Float to affiliated campuses as needed
• First-time travelers not accepted

Responsibilities

As Sterile Processing Manager, you will:

• Direct daily Sterile Processing Department operations including decontamination, assembly, sterilization, case cart management, and distribution
• Supervise SPD Supervisors, Lead Techs, and Sterile Processing Technicians
• Recruit, onboard, coach, evaluate, and retain department staff
• Manage staffing schedules and productivity
• Develop department budgets and monitor expenses
• Ensure compliance with AAMI, AORN, CDC, OSHA, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards
• Lead quality improvement initiatives and infection prevention efforts
• Oversee sterilization documentation, biological monitoring, and instrument tracking
• Collaborate with Operating Room leadership, Infection Prevention, Materials Management, and Supply Chain
• Manage instrument inventory, repairs, preventive maintenance, and capital equipment planning
• Support process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and patient safety\

Additional Information

• Local candidates within a 60-mile radius may be considered at an adjusted rate
• One pre-approved RTO request allowed and must be submitted with application
• Guaranteed hours (facility may call off one shift every two weeks)
• Floating between MUSC campuses may be required
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June–November)
