Position: Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) – Surgical Services $$SN$$
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Shift: Evenings – 5x8s (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)
Duration: 13 weeks
Job Duties
• Perform sterile processing duties in an acute hospital operating room environment.
• Decontaminate, disinfect, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepare surgical case carts and place instruments on trays according to procedure requirements.
• Perform proper labeling, wrapping, and sterilization procedures using appropriate materials.
• Monitor sterilization processes using biological indicators, chemical indicators, and steam sterilization testing.
• Perform immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS) procedures when required.
• Process specialty surgical equipment including scopes and instruments for ENT, General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology.
• Operate and maintain sterile processing equipment including steam sterilizers, washer disinfectors, V-PRO low-temperature sterilization systems, Medivator scope processors, Scope Buddy, and cart washers.
• Collaborate with surgical teams and support safe patient care through proper instrument processing standards.
