Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 trauma surgical unit requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Surgery Trauma unit (6A) within a high-acuity Level 1 trauma center
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Patient population includes surgical, gunshot wound, quadriplegic, and paraplegic patients
• Patient ratio of 5:1
• Unit supported by nursing support techs, phlebotomists, and a night unit secretary
• Nurse handoff conducted with ED and admitting unit staff
• No on-call requirements
• No block scheduling; must be willing to work assigned shifts
• Expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg specialty experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity trauma hospitals required
• Proven experience managing critical, fast-paced trauma cases required

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• No RTO permitted during the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
