Job Title: First Assist Surgical Tech Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: First Assist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-17:00 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Virginia License Certifications: Required certifications as per state regulations Must-Have: Robotic experience Orthopedic experience Neuro/spine experience Description: Unit information includes 16 operating rooms and one team of RN, surgical assistant, and surgical tech per operating room during day shift. Staffing tapers on evenings with call on weekends and nights. Day shift includes 16 RNs, 16 surgical assistants, and 16 surgical techs. Evening shift tapers to 4 teams from 3-5, 2 teams from 5-7, and 1 team from 7-11 PM. Call starts for additional 2 teams at 3 PM. Night shift includes call only. Patient ratios are 1-1. The facility is equipped with robotics, neurosurgery, general, plastics, urology, and orthopedic equipment. Electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates without the must-have skills will not be considered for the role. Preferred candidates should be team players. All surgical procedures are performed except for transplant and cardiac surgery. Call rotation averages 2 shifts per week, including weekday nights and weekends.
