Job Title: Certified Surgical First Assistant Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Surgical Assistant Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 5 years without a degree or relevant military training. License: Current CPR required. Certifications: BLS, CST Must-Have: Ability to assist in all service lines, including total joints, and willingness to scrub as needed. Description: A Surgical Assistant is needed to support various service lines and operate in a collaborative and safe manner. The Surgical Assistant will provide direct and indirect care to patients based on established standards. This role involves assisting the surgeon during operative procedures to ensure optimal outcomes for patients with compromised protective reflexes or self-care abilities. The Surgical Assistant collaborates with other healthcare providers, including Registered Nurses and anesthesia staff. Additionally, this position may involve training new team members and participating in complex cases. The Surgical Assistant will work under the supervision of the surgeon and is responsible for maintaining knowledge of the organization's mission, vision, and values. Continuing education and compliance with facility policies are essential. Travelers are expected to work every other holiday and are subject to shift cancellation due to low census. Candidate must be comfortable floating to other units based on skill sets and census needs, with no restrictions or special requests.
