- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running
- Availability to work call rotation and holidays as needed
Description:
Provides peri-operative care of surgical patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
Assures the physical environment is appropriately prepared before patient arrival.
Assists in developing a plan of care.
Follows procedures to ensure patient and employee safety.
Consistently demonstrates an outward mindset and exemplary effort in achieving goals and objectives.
Assists the surgical team during operative procedures.
Uses instruments and medical devices effectively.
Provides exposure, handles and/or cuts tissue, and provides hemostasis and sutures.
Utilizes technology appropriately, adhering to safety standards and measures.
Follows infection prevention standards.
Employs evidence-based tools and established policies and procedures.
Engages in self-assessment, peer review, and completes mandatory education and competency assessments.
Accepts responsibility for ongoing professional development.
Participates in unit-based performance improvement activities and staff meetings.
Supports changes within the operating room environment.
Arranges and inventories sterile setups for operations and passes items as needed to the operating team.
Assists in preparing and moving patients, as well as cleaning the operating room.
All requested time off during the assignment must be noted at the time of submission.
No more than 5 days of requested time off will be accepted.
Candidates must be able to work independently and effectively without the need for direction.
