Job Title: First Assist CST/ORT Profession: CST/ORT Specialty: First Assist Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 06:45-17:15 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Must be licensed in Virginia Certifications: Licensed First Assist with Board of Medicine in Virginia Must-Have: Proficient in Orthopedics, Da Vinci, and Neuro Advanced skills in craniotomy, spine fusion, liver resection, Whipple procedure, and MAKO total joint Description: The position is focused on first assisting in the operating room. The unit consists of 10 main OR beds with a patient ratio of 1:1. Each operating room is staffed with one circulator and one first assist. The equipment used includes standard operating room equipment. Documentation is done through an electronic medical records system. Shifts are 10 hours long, with rotating call requirements on weeknights and weekends. There is no floating to other units. As part of the team, there is an emphasis on patient experience. Candidates should have advanced skills and proficiency in the required specialties. Scrubs will be provided as part of the uniform. Unit policies and guidelines are available upon request.
