Job Title: Certified Surgical Assistant - Cardiovascular Operating Room Profession: Surgical First Assist Specialty: Cardiovascular Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday through Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA), Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Must-Have: - RNFA, CSTFA, or CFA certification - Experience in cardiovascular surgical procedures Description: Looking for a surgical assistant with experience in cardiovascular procedures. Proficient in CABG, Angiograms, Endarterectomies (Carotid and Femoral), Aortic Root repairs, Valve Replacement, and AAA procedures. This role also requires performing General, Orthopedic, OB/GYN, Urology, ENT, and Plastics procedures. The surgical assistant will work at both the main operating room and the outpatient surgery center. Call is required on a weekly basis from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM the next day. Additionally, weekend call shifts are required every four weeks. The unit performs a range of 40 to 60 procedures per day. Strong collaboration with surgeons and other surgical assistants is essential. Equipment used includes computerized charting systems, cauteries, and laparoscopic towers. Candidates must have skills in cardiovascular surgical procedures and basic general surgery procedures. This position offers an opportunity to work in a busy and dynamic surgical environment.
