Travel Surgical First Assistant (SFA) - $2,595 per week in Charleston, WV

Candidates need to go through the credentialing process which can take 60+ days. Do not submit anyone who wants to start in three weeks. Shifts will be 4x10, from 06:45 to 17:15, with weekday and weekend on-call duties required. Alternatively, candidates may work 3x12 from 06:45 to 19:15. The position involves first assisting in the operating room, specifically for cardiac cases. Ratios involve 5-6 cardiac/thoracic cases per day. Weekend call is required, likely one weeknight per week and a weekend. Skills required include cardiac experience and robotics. First-time travelers with the necessary experience are acceptable. Call-off policy allows for one cancellation per two-week period without pay for canceled hours. Certification boards currently accepted for this position include: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners American Association of Critical-Care Nurses American Board of Surgical Assistants National Assistant at Surgery Certification Additional skills involved may include various surgical procedures and responsibilities. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is around six patients. Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility. Candidates residing 75-99 miles away may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
