Key Responsibilities- Perform first assist duties in the operating room under the direction of the surgical team
- Provide direct intraoperative support including tissue handling, hemostasis, and wound closure assistance
- Maintain sterile field and adhere to all surgical aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and OR staff to ensure safe and efficient surgical outcomes
- Follow facility protocols and standards for patient safety and surgical care
Required Qualifications- Active NBSTSA certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — First Assist credential required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist with First Assist responsibilities
- Current BLS certification
- Demonstrated competency in operating room scrub and first assist techniques
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in a high-volume acute care or trauma hospital setting
- Familiarity with cardiovascular or intensive care surgical procedures
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced OR environment
